Women lay YPJ fighters to rest
RIHA (URFA) - The funerals of 4 fighters of YPJ were laid to rest by thousands of people in Pirsûs (Suruç) district of Urfa under the slogans of "Martyrs do not die".
The funerals of the YPJ (Women's Protection Units) guerrillas Bêkar Mistefa Mihemmed, Sorgul Aziz Api (Midiya Ali), Viyan Ahmed and Mizgin Ahmed (Mizgin Gülbahçe), who lost their lives in a clash with Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) gangs in Kobanî Canton of Rojava, were laid to rest in Pirsûs district of Riha. The posters of YPJ fighters were carried in the march towards the cemetery. The flags of YPG (People's Defense Units) and YPJ were carrried in the march towards the cemetery. The crowd frequently chanted "Kurdistan will become grave for fascism", "Long live resistance of YPJ" and “Martyrs do not die".
One minute silence was held at the cemetery in the memory of all those who lost their lives in the struggle of freedom and democracy and the Kurdish guerilla anthem "Çerxa Şoreşê" was read all of a sound. Then, the bodies of fighters were laid to rest under the slogans of "Şehîd namirin". Dozens of children from Kobanê also joined in the funeral ceremony. Also, women have lamented for YPJ fighters along the funeral ceremony.
