MESOP EXCLUSIV : Posts By ISIS Fighters, Kurdish News Agency Video Suggest Turkish Military Cooperating With ISIS

The following report is a complimentary offering from MEMRI’s Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM). click bottom link for pictures .  An October 27, 2014 report by the Kurdish news agency DIHA claims that Turkey is cooperating with the Islamic  State (IS), and presents as evidence footage that it claims was shot by the agency on October 22 which shows IS fighters meeting with Turkish soldiers.
The English-language DIHA report states: “Turkish support for ISIS gangs has been proved once more with photographic evidence. Armed gang members have been photographed at the border with Turkish soldiers, bidding each other farewell.

“Turkish support for ISIS gangs, which is constantly on the international agenda, has been documented once again by footage shot by the Dicle News Agency (DİHA), which shows armed men talking to soldiers before crossing into Rojava. This close support for ISIS contrasts with the treatment accorded to dozens of civilians from Kobane who have been made to wait for hours at the Murşitpınar border gate by soldiers and have lost their lives as a result.
“Intimate meetings between Turkish soldiers and ISIS!
“Footage shot on the Zorava hill in Kobanê on 22 October 2014 shows five gang members arriving at the border where citizens of Kobane have left their vehicles. The gang members burn the property of the Kobane citizens, before taking away anything useful in the cars and heading towards the village of Siftek, which is under their control. Then 2 gang members come to the border and talk to 7 soldiers who get out of an armoured vehicle. After about half an hour they say farewell to each other and leave the area. While what was said in the conversation is not known, the gangs who said farewell to the soldiers will be preparing to perpetrate fresh massacres.” [1]

Several ISIS fighters have shared on social media that they have free access to Turkish border crossings and friendly relations with the Turkish soldiers. Belgian IS fighter Abu Brams posted a series of 4 photos on Facebook [2] on October 28, 2014, featuring him and several gun-toting friends hanging out at the Turkish borderpoint in Karkamis.

Israfil Yilmaz, a fighter in Syria, tweeted[3] on October 27, “Whats the biggie of the Mujahideen talking to Turkish soldiers? I always chat to them at the border, they know Syria is not their territory.”

DBP strongly condemns attack on HDP executive

The Party of Democratic Regions (DBP) has released a written statement condemning the attack on HDP party assembly member Ahmet Karataş early Tuesday morning.
DBP strongly condemned the attack on the HDP executive Karataş, and recalled that the HDP co-President Selahattin Demirtaş was verbally abused in a plane a few days ago, pointing out that the two incidents are not isolated. “The fascist circles want today to slaughter HDP executives and members using the methods of ISIS”, said the DBP.
“What is happening is the putting into practice by gangs of venomous verbal assaults by the AKP government and the President in recent days. This attack is for us the consequence of the insults of the president, prime minister and ministers targeting the HDP. This is why it is an attack organised by the state mentality regardless of who the individual attacker is”, said the DBP.
The DBP stressed that they as a democratic society will continue to resist under any conditions and at any cost against fascism and its gangs, and will not remain silent but raise their voices in the face of these kinds of attacks. The Party called on the AKP and the gangs launching these attacks to give up their assaults, saying; "otherwise we will need to remind them that they will be the ones suffering the attacks that they provoke”.
DBP wished a speedy recovery to HDP Party Assembly member Ahmet Karataş, who has been seriously injured in this attack, and extended best wishes to the People’s Democratic Party and its members.

Call from Peace Assembly to Turkish government and HDP

The Peace Assembly of Turkey (TBM) has issued a written statement, calling on the government and the HDP Imralı delegation “to come together to find a way to overcome the deadlock” in the peace process. TBM criticised the use of threatening, accusing and imperious language.
Emphasising that the peace process in Turkey is reaching a deadlock, TBM said the incidents that have taken place during a turning point where progression to a negotiation process was being planned; the incidents of 6-7 October that claimed the lives of 46 civilians and the developments afterwards, have created disappointment in society for peace and solution, hindered the expectations and inhibited the hopes for a safer future.
“Those who have to overcome the impasse are pursuing conflict by holding press conferences and making statements which are far from solving the problems”, said TBM and added: “It seems impossible to overcome the deadlock by the use of threatening, accusing, imperious and humiliating language”.
The Peace Assembly of Turkey called on the government and the Imrali delegation of the HDP, “to come together as soon as possible to find a solution to overcome the deadlock, as they are both well aware that the peace process cannot be handled unilaterally”.
The Peace Assembly also called on all the parties to avoid attitudes that might lead to more difficulties in the process, stressing that; "No one will gain from the continuation of the latest attitudes; we all lose.Taking these steps will contribute to a rebuilding of trust between the parties as well as in society. In order for peace to become socialised and for belief in a solution to be ensured, this trust has to be developed. There is no other way apart from peace and resolution”.

Operation against ISIS gangs from Burkan Al Firat

Burkan Al Firat forces launched an operation against the ISIS gangs yesterday night on the western front in Kobanê, leaving dozens of gang members dead.
According to the reports of the ANHA News Agency, sporadic clashes took place the whole night between the YPG forces and the ISIS gangs on the eastern and southern fronts of Kobanê. Having failed to advance, the gangs targeted civilians in the town with mortars as well as sniper attacks. Clashes on the eastern and southern fronts are reported to be continuing.
On the western front of Kobanê, YPG forces and Burkan Al Firat forces, part of the Free Syrian Army, launched joint operations in the villages of Erbûş, Menazê and Elî Bilor against the gangs. While a large number of gang members were killed in the clashes, the peshmerga forces reportedly contributed to the operations with heavy weapon support.

‘YPG acting with the Peshmerga like a single army’

YPG Commander Mahmud Berxwedan said after the peshmerga forces crossed into Kobanê they have acted like a single army, rather than in coordination. He added: “The peshmerga are endeavouring to carry out what is asked of them in a self-sacrificing way.” Mahmud Berxwedan said the peshmerga had carried out effective strikes against the ISIS gangs with the heavy weaponry they had brought with them.
Mahmud Berxwedan said that since the end of October the initiative had passed to the YPG forces and answered questions from the ANF regarding the arrival of the peshmerga, the situation of civilians and the latest state of the conflict.
What kind of coordination has there been between the peshmerga forces and yourselves after the peshmerga forces came to Kobanê?
We were delighted to welcome a Kurdish force to Kobanê. It has created national feeling throughout  Kurdistan. Relationships have developed positively. They told us they were prepared for all manner of plan and operation. They have heavy weaponry and are using these weapons effectively. We are acting more like a single army than as two forces acting in a coordinated way. The peshmerga are endeavouring to carry out what is asked of them in a self-sacrificing way. The Turkish media claims that: “Some peshmerga have deserted,” but this is a slur and part of psychological warfare. We are fighting side by side with the peshmerga. They are determined and say they are ready to bring more personnel and weaponry if needed.
“The Peshmerga’s heavy weaponry is effective”
Have there been changes in the situation in the conflict since the arrival of the peshmerga?
We have begun to see the effect of their heavy weaponry outside the town, rather than inside it. They have had a psychological effect on the enemy. Wherever they are asked they use these weapons and we would like to thank them once again.
“In the last week ISIS has suffered more losses than in the entire war”
Can we say that the initiative now rests with the YPG forces?
Since the beginning of the month the initiative has been with us. The gangs are constantly bringing in reinforcements from Rakka and other areas and even from outside Syria. In the last week alone hundreds of them have been killed, more than since the beginning of the attacks. The peshmerga’s heavy weaponry has made a significant contribution to our gaining the initiative.”
“Civilians living in harsh conditions”
What is the situation like for civilians in Kobanê?
Of course it is not good, they are living in a war environment. Every day there are explosions. ISIS attacks civilians on a daily basis. We are now in winter and there is no electricity or water and they are living in tents.
Today on the western front you launched a joint operation against ISIS gangs with the FSA and peshmerga. Is this operation continuing?
This operation was carried out by the Defence Units consisting of the FSA, peshmerga and YPG and continued until the morning. Serious blows were inflicted on the ISIS gangs in the village of Merza Erbuşan. Many gang members were killed. This was the first joint action carried out together with the FSA and peshmerga and these operations will continue.”
“Allegations of problems between YPG and FSA are baseless”
Finally, what would you like to say?
I would like to respond to certain baseless allegations. There are no problems between the YPG and the FSA. Claims that we don’t want the FSA here are untrue. It is not true that we are opposed to  Abduljabbar Egidi's forces being here. These allegations are part of an ISIS ploy. On the contrary, we are gradually consolidating our alliance, and I am confident that these forces and the YPG will continue to develop this alliance.

KCK: AKP dragging Turkey into a deadlock

KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-Presidency has warned in a written statement that the provocative and aggressive attitude of the AKP state and its partisan press against the HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) and the legal Kurdish politics will drag Turkey into a huge deadlock.
The KCK pointed out that the Turkish President and Prime Minister, Tayyip Erdoğan and Ahmet Davutoğlu, insulted and threatened the Kurdish people in all their remarks and at every opportunity, targeting all those struggling and resisting against the monist and oligarchic mindset of the AKP.
Also criticizing the Turkish President Erdoğan for threatening the Kurds not to try his patience, KCK said; “It is apparent that Erdoğan is once again failing to make out the developments taking place in line with the Kobanê resistance and the process the Middle East, Kurdistan and Turkey is going through. This is the reason why the steps determinedly taken by Kurdish people's leader and movement so far have all gone unreciprocated.”
Remarking that the AKP state was still bearing an operational and repressive mindset, the KCK said this was nothing but the greatest evil and hostility to the peoples of Turkey and their future, adding; "It is obvious that continuous threats and remarks such as 'our patience has a limit' aim to develop a new social genocide and special warfare methods. The Turkish state has treated the Kurdish question on the basis of this mindset for 40 years now. It is also apparent that insistence on same policies will lead the AKP to the brink of elimination, just like what happened to other parties before, and cause a loss for the AKP itself, not our peoples."
KCK underlined that it is only democratic and political methods that have not been tried for a solution to the Kurdish question so far as the Kurdish people and those resisting are still being arrested and killed. "The AKP is obviously following a policy hostile towards the Kurds, while also maintaining an aggressive attitude towards the existence, gains and freedom of the Kurdish people not only in the North but also in all other parts of Kurdistan, as has also been seen in the cases of Rojava and Kobanê. The threats it is uttering impose the elimination of the Kurdish freedom movement and the submission of the Kurdish legal politics and the HDP", it added.
The KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency ended the statement by stressing that the Kurdish people and revolutionist powers of Turkey will definitively resist and enhance the struggle against the threats and attacks of the AKP.
