The Greek left is not left.
I understand if you are the Prime Minister to make concessions to the protocol if you are visiting a foreign country.
The ''left'' Tsipras, former Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, visited Iran at some point while he was Prime Minister. No one would ask him to preach to the theocrats on the left. He paid a state-institutional visit as the bourgeois-petty bourgeois left-wing prime minister of a capitalist democracy.
But his partner had no reason, formal or substantial, to visit Iran, she just followed her husband on a big trip, that is, tourism. If the regime did not impose forced hijab, it would be legitimate and understandable to accompany her partner.
Since there was no institutional reason, that is, she was not a state or institutional agent to have to (and she) pay a visit, she did not have to accept this fundamentalist "obligation", so she did not have to travel with the FALSE-left ( then) Prime Minister Tsipras.
And her style does not show contemplation, reflection, distancing. She's having fun, she's having a picnic.
No! this is not left!
I am NOT this kind of Greek leftist, and I apologize to all my Iranian comrades.
