Stuck in the mud of their programmatic direct-democratic obvious (Sovietism), the Iranian leftists cannot even imagine their bourgeois-democratic task, even as a transitional one, even in a Leninist way.

Thus, those who are more moderate in their sectarianism do not make the elementary normal bourgeois-democratic demand for a constituent assembly of directly elected representatives, because as sectarians they also consider it simply a bourgeois demand, so they only demand other bourgeois-democratic demands, but far behind this essential bourgeois-democratic aim, and the most consistent sectarians judge the moderate as subservient to the bourgeois-democratic aim.

 

The concept of direct democracy, or assembly without other determinations (there are anarchists and anti-capitalists who do not even accept the term democracy), is the political mud in which the left has been stuck since it outgrew its direct Jacobin ideological overdetermination (which is already problematic as determination). This thing in Russian is called soviet. Let me end the matter.

Good soviets for democracy and for the working class itself never existed and never will exist, despite any positive elements etc.

What is missing is an alternative to the parliamentary political system, a democratic socialist system of overall central management of society and production, which however will contains all the representative possibilities that the existing parliamentary system contains (direct general elections, the right to freely elect representatives, etc.).
