In Iran and among Iranian political exiles outside Iran, there is a political triangle that is constructed from three powerful political volitions none of which aims at a bourgeois parliamentary democracy (misleadingly defined by many supporters and by many opponents of it as a Western-style democracy).
The triangle political world of Iran consists of the following political and actors:
1. Theocrats.
2. Conservative right-wing liberals who are political followers or semi-followers of monarchism.
3. Leftists and communists.
From this political triangle, the only political volition/factor that has benefited is theocrats.
The main people responsible within the general anti-theocratic political space for the non-emergence of the bourgeois democratic demand are the monarchists.
The fact that the monarchists, although pro-Western, don't ask for bourgeois democracy, while the theocrats certainly don't even discuss it, shows the deep authoritarian nature of the Iranian bourgeoisie.
The Iranian bourgeoisie, although divided into theocrats and monarchists, is united not only in relation to its class interests but also in relation to the common extreme authoritarianism of all its branches.

If the Iranian left accepted a possibility that socialism would not be implemented immediately during or immediately after the impending anti-theocratic revolution, then it could perhaps push the semi-liberal sub-wing of the Iranian bourgeoisie to contribute to the establishment of a normal and modern bourgeois democracy.
But the Iranian left hopes for an immediate predominance of a socialist workers' power, so beyond some indirect semi-alliances formed with small sections of bourgeois political forces it plans nothing of the sort.
Imagine that even sectarian groups such as the Hekmatists, who are probably the most reasonable and mild version of Iranian leftist sectarianism, when they form these timid alliances become the object of furious attacks from the other (usually Stalinist semi-Stalinist and Trotskyist) sectarians.
Complete political impasse of the Iranian left, so in its share, political impotence of the anti-regimepol opposition, since the conservative pro-monarchists or direct monarchists do not ask for such a possibility, they have not expressed a will for the creation of a normal modern bourgeois democracy.
While the responsibilities of the worst of the opposition, namely the monarchists, are therefore greater, we also see the responsibilities of the Iranian left.
Influenced and perhaps excited, unfortunately, by the revival of the radical phantasies of their Western comrades, they cannot exactly function as the best factor, as they probably are (those who are certainly normal and not paranoid) (a large part of them, not all, because even in this tortured branch of the global left, there is unfortunately a lot of people who are governed by the Nechayevist traditions of the Leninist version).

Αν η ιρανική αριστερά δέχονταν ότι υπάρχει ένα ενδεχόμενο να μην εφαρμοστεί ο σοσιαλισμός άμεσα κατά την διάρκεια ή αμέσως μετά την επικείμενη αντι-θεοκρατική επανάσταση, τότε θα μπορούσε ίσως να σπρώξει την ημι-φιλελεύθερη υπο-πτέρυγα τής ιρανικής αστικής τάξης ώστε να συντελέσει στην συγκρότηση μιας κανονικής και σύγχρονης αστικής δημοκρατίας.
Όμως η ιρανική αριστερά ελπίζει σε μια άμεση επικράτηση μιας σοσιαλιστικής εργατικής εξουσίας, οπότε πέραν κάποιων έμμεσων ημι-συμμαχιών που συγκροτεί με μικρά τμήματα αστικών πολιτικών δυνάμεων δεν σχεδιάζει τίποτα τέτοιο.
Φανταστείτε ότι ακόμα και σεκταριστικές ομάδες όπως είναι οι Χεκματιστές, οι οποίοι μάλλον αποτελούν την πιο λογικεμένη και ήπια εκδοχή τού ιρανικού αριστερού σεκταρισμού, όταν συγκροτούν αυτές τις ντροπαλές συμμαχίες γίνονται αντικείμενο λυσσαλέας επίθεσης από τις άλλες, συνήθως σταλινικές σταλινογενείς και τροτσκιστικές, σεκταριστικές φράξιες.
Πλήρες πολιτικό αδιέξοδο τής ιρανικής αριστεράς, άρα στο μερίδιο που τής αναλογεί, πολιτική ανικανότητα τής αντικαθεστωτικής αντιπολίτευσης, εφόσον οι συντηρητικοί φιλομοναρχιστες ή ευθέως μοναρχιστες δεν ζητούν καν μια τέτοια δυνατότητα, δεν έχουν εκφράσει βούληση για την δημιουργία μιας κανονικής σύγχρονης αστικής δημοκρατίας στο Ιράν.
Ενώ οι ευθύνες των χειρότερων εκ των αντιπολιτευόμενων, δηλαδή των μοναρχιστών, είναι λοιπόν μεγαλύτερες, βλέπουμε επίσης τις ευθύνες τής ιρανικής αριστεράς.
Επηρεασμένοι και ίσως ενθουσιασμένοι, δυστυχώς, από την αναβίωση των ριζοσπαστικών φαντασιώσεων των δυτικών συντρόφων τους, δεν μπορούν να λειτουργήσουν ακριβώς ως ο καλύτερος παράγοντας, όπως και πιθανώς είναι ούτως, όσοι είναι βέβαια νορμάλ και όχι παρανοϊκοί (ένα μεγάλο μέρος τους, όχι όλοι, διότι και σε αυτόν τον βασανισμένο κλάδο τής παγκόσμιας αριστεράς, υπάρχει δυστυχώς πολύς κόσμος που διέπεται από τίς νετσαγεφικές παραδόσεις τής λενινιστικής εκδοχής).
